The Shelby Park Picture Show is back up and running and about to begin it's 2016 season! This year marks year two for the event series, and there are a few changes Nashville audiences can look forward to. Firstly, twice as many shows, secondly, the audience actually got to pick all the movies this year! Other changes include online ticketing through the 2016 calendar on the website, and opportunities for multiple non-profits to partner with the series to benefit from from proceeds. Today in East Nashville theres an event happening And not just any event. I found out about the Roxy Theatre a few months back looking for older buildings on the East side that might be perfect locations for a new venue, recording space just something a little different. Going to the recent show at the Frist this last weekend was a surprise of beauty, a shock of culture, and altogether one of the best shows Ive seen there. Nashville loves this venue for its far-reaching appreciation of all arts, and I cant say enough good things about it myself. Its interesting though that this show in particular did not have the same marketing and advertising as shows Ive seen there in the past. After the recent tornadoes in Joplin, Missouri, TSE artist, Joshua was asked to perform at theOVERFLOW: VOICES IN ACTIONfundraiser for Watered Gardens (a local charity and homeless shelter). The artist works with various non-profits as an activist for many causes, but has a passionate interest in relief efforts stemming from his history on the Gulf Coast, doing volunteer work after hurricane Katrina. Recently he was recognized byLifebyMe.comand given a front page spread on their site. They asked him to write some thoughts about living a good life, and particularly, on what "potential" means.
